The United Kingdom (usually shortened to UK) is soverign state located off the northwest coast of western Europe. A member of the G8, the UK is well known as a developed capitalist and imperialist nation.

The Kingdom's area consists of the island of Britain, as well as part of the county of Ulster in Northern Ireland.

With one of the world's largest nuclear arsenals, the UK plays an active role in NATO and holds a permenant seat on the United Nations security council.
