Trotskyists (also known as "Trots" or "The people who repeatedly ask you to buy a newspaper") are followers of the Russian Bolshevik leader Leon Trotsky, who was icepicked to death in 1940(?). Trotskyist groups today, such as the International Socialist Organization in the US and the Socialist Workers Party in Britain, are a mostly authoritarian bunch. Their modus operandi seems to be to set up front groups, such as RESPECT in Britain, and utilize them to pick up more members. Such groups often have high turnover rates, and many members leave jaded and embittered. Trotskyists also have been known to say not-so-nice things about anarchists, but most anarchists agree that it's because they're jealous of our natural sex appeal.
