Talk:Main Page
From Infoshop OpenWiki
This is the main talk page for the Infoshop OpenWiki. Please keep in mind that members of the Infoshop collective have the right to moderate and modify this page for any reason whatsoever. The OpenWiki is used to support content for the Infoshop.org website, thus there are certain pages which will be tightly moderated so that they adhere to our mission, goals, and current projects.
If you are interested in taking this wiki into a radically new direction, please go somewhere else and start your own project. The MediaWiki software is pretty easy to install and set up. I say this to discourage people who seek to waste our time with their wingnut and crackpot ideas. Thanks! WikiSysop 20:12, 21 May 2006 (PDT)

[edit] new design
The new layout looks great! I'm glad that an Activist Movement section was added. Could the Prison Abolition Guide be added to that?
[edit] 'Tanong at Sagot Ukol sa Anarkismo' (A Tagalog/Filipino Anarchist FAQs)
Hi there, A-Open-Wiki people! Sorry for barging in like this, but wafting thru the "edit pages" section doesn't really help solving my question: How can I start a new wikipage section here?
Our group, Project Aperture (http://www.projectaperture.org) is translating the An Anarchist FAQ into our local dialect/language, Tagalog/Filipino. In all honesty, we haven't uploaded some translated sections yet into our own website, and again in all honesty we haven't completed a whole section yet (sweatdrops). But we are doing it, and we'd like to join in the Infoshop boat of sharing our efforts at translating it here in these virtual spaces.
Help on my question? Anyway, our contact address is ideas at projectaperture.org or at my personal email at lilithmelody at gmail.com.
Thanks, and we at Project Aperture hope to work more closely with you. Para sa isang kinabukasang puno ng kalayaan! (For a future full of freedom!)
sincerely,
lilithmelody
- Hi Lilith! Yes, we would be glad to help you out with your project in any way. The easiest way to do this would be for you to start a page here and then link pages from that page. You could do this, for example, by simply typing this URL into your browser: http://www.infoshop.org/wiki/index.php/Project_Aperture Nice to hear from you! WikiSysop 08:02, 17 Jul 2006 (PDT)
- Thanks for the very handy startup tip! ^^ We've started a page just now, and in the coming days we hope to put in more stuff in. http://www.infoshop.org/wiki/index.php/Anarchist_FAQ_(in_Tagalog) I'm quite new at this wiki-open-editing thing, but we really hope that by putting the whole Tagalog A-FAQ translation thing up here, we could really speed up translating it and also get nice feedback from other 'virtual Philippine anarchists' out here. Thanks again! - lilithmelody, 24 July 2006 GMT 8:00
[edit] A-FAQ Translation efforts by Project Apeture delayed -- sorry about that
Sorry, Infoshop people, our translations efforts will be bogged down a bit, since we're going to focus more on the Sagada 11 campaign (http://www.foodnotbombs.net/philippine_arrests_action.html) by providing means to raise funds and awareness of it. We're decided to do a subtitle translation of the docu "The Take" and show the film around places here, and the film showings with paid entrances will help fund part of the campaign (we hope). Sorry for this, and please wish us luck in our efforts here! Thanks. - lilithmelody, 18 September 2006
- Best of luck! Sometimes more important things come up. Take care of your comrades. WikiSysop 10:44, 18 Sep 2006 (PDT)
[edit] Changing link name for redirected page
I recently changed the name of the Rocky Mountains neighborhood to "Mountain West" because it is a more inclusive term that encompasses all of the states under discussion in that Neighborhood. Several of the states in the West have little or no connection to the Rockies, and there are many other mountain ranges out here. Would someone be so kind as to change the name of the link on this main page to Mountain West? Thanks, Mycota 17:25, 9 June 2008 (PDT)
