Revolutionary Youth Movement

Revolutionary Youth Movement was a faction in Students for a Democratic Society which was opposed to the PL faction in SDS.
In 1968, the SDS had fused with the Progressive Labor Party. A faction within SDS, which called itself the Revolutionary Youth Movement (RYM) opposed the PL influence within SDS. The PL faction was called Worker-Student Alliance At the 1969 SDS convention in Chicago, the PL faction managed to take over the party. This caused a walkout by the RYM faction.
The RYM met in a local movie theater run by a local radical Johnny Appleseed. At that meeting, RYM itself split into two factions, RYM I and RYM II.
RYM I would later be known as the Weathermen.
