Punk Planet
From Infoshop OpenWiki
Punk Planet is a 16,000 print run punk fanzine, based in Chicago, USA, that focuses most of it's energy on looking at punk as a sub-culture rather than simply being some music that teenagers listen to!
The zine was establised around ten years ago in a response to the perception that Maximum Rock N Roll was becoming too elitist. As of November 2004 Punk Planet has printed 64 copies of their zine, and has recently started selling books, as well as more general merch.
Like the other big national US fanzine - Maximum Rock N Roll - Punk Planet is not without its detractors. Many complain about its square spine, high advertising rates, high price, and the fact the percieved over-attention to layout and style, which has to a certain extent moved it away from the traditional punk aesthetic.
