Maoism is a political philosophy that draws from the philosophy of Mao Zedong.

Whether to call Maoism "Maoism" is a question Maoists debate. Being as Mao rooted his thought in Marxism-Leninism (even though Molotov said in an interview once that when he met Mao, Mao told him he never read Capital), some Maoists like the US Revolutionary Communist Party call their philosophy Marxism-Leninism-Maoism. Previously they called it Marxism-Leninism-Mao Tsetung Thought, one reason being that that is what the Communist Party of China called its political philosophy at a 1940's congress.
