From Infoshop OpenWiki
The Institute for Social Ecology (ISE) has been a center of ecological activism, radical community development, and eco-anarchist theory since it was founded in 1974.
The ISE’s programs, which include summer sessions, work-shops, conferences, and a BA and MA in social ecology (offered in affiliation with Goddard College), present students with a unique opportunity to learn about social and ecological reconstruction in a participatory setting, with an emphasis on classroom discussion as well as hands-on, practical experience. It has now served more than 2,000 students from around the globe.
The ISE has also been active in the publication of newsletters, monographs, books, and journals, including Democracy and Nature: the International Journal of Politics and Ecology and Harbinger: A Journal of Social Ecology.
