Incendio
From Infoshop OpenWiki
Incendio is a bilingual (Spanish/English) journal intended to connect English/Spanish speaking anarchists throughout the world to anarchist, indigenous, ecological, and social struggles occurring throughout Latin America.
[edit] Background
This idea was inspired by two other projects. The first is Solidarity South Pacific, which was initiated by British eco-anarchists in order to support ecological and indigenous struggles in the South Pacific against cultural and environmental destruction. The second project is Abolishing Borders from Below, an English language publication from Germany. This is a bi-monthly anarchist journal that publishes articles about an array of anarchist and social struggles throughout Eastern Europe and Russia. The intention of Abolishing Borders from Below is to inform individuals in other countries about these struggles so that the information can be used to support comrades there. Incendio, aims to combine elements of both of these projects with a focus on Latin America.
The hope is to develop an extensive list of contacts from Mexico to Argentina who will send us reports about what is occurring in their region. We'll collect these reports along with interviews, event notices, requests for solidarity and actions, and other news. The collective will have the material translated and then published in this journal. There are many topics that we expect to cover, such as the militarization of borders, transnational economic policies, environmental and cultural devastation, stories of creative revolt, etc.
