The anarchist disapora describes the phenomenon of anarchists who have been deported from, or have fled from, their native country. A famous historical example is Emma Goldman, who was deported from the United States to Russia. She later lived in France and died in Canada. Other anarchists such as Bakunin fled from their native country because of persecution, imprisonment and hostility towards anarchists.
