The SB Infoshop has found a 2-story space with kitchen and bathrooms on the East Side! The new space will be open to the public by the end of the month.

Food Not Bombs Isla Vista is officially up and running! It is a resounding success by all accounts. This means there are officially 2 Food Not Bombs chapters running in the general Santa Barbara/Goleta area. The new chapter meets on Tuesdays, but is looking to expand to other days.

Some spontaneously organized groups have been doing occasional Copwatch activities in the Isla Vista area.

There are now Really Really Free Markets held on the last weekend of every month in the Alice Keck Park Memorial Gardens. The event starts at 11 AM and goes til dark. Bring anything! Take anything! Share all you like!

The Santa Barbara Infoshop is having a Grand Opening Party this Monday, January 21st!

Plans are also in motion to create and circulate an anarchist newspaper, as a viable, radical alternative media would help to connect and improve isolated projects. If you'd like to help out, contribute resources, or share ideas, stop by Food Not Bombs.

  • Food Not Bombs, organized by local anarchists, shares on Saturdays at 4:00 PM at the Santa Barbara Public Library, downtown, and on Wednesdays at noon, after stopping by the labor lines.
  • The Critical Mass bike ride meets at 5:00 PM at the gazebo in Alameda Park on the last friday of every month.
  • The local branch of the Industrial Workers of the World meets at the Muddy Waters CafĂ© on the first Saturday of every month.
  • The Really Really Free Market is held on the last weekend of every month in Alice Keck Park Memorial Gardens. Check our myspace, myspace.com/sbfreemarket, for specific dates.
