Operation Safe Abortion vs. Operation Save America: Operation Save America, formerly known as Operation Rescue, is coming to Witchita, Kansas to 'end all abortion services'. OSA is the militant wing of the anti-choice movement. In 1991, they brought Wichita to a standstill, limiting abortion services for nearly 7 weeks. There were around 4,000 arrests in 1991. On their website they proclaim, "God commands and is longing for His people to finish the work begun in 1991. Come stand and unashamedly proclaim that Jesus is Lord of Wichita, KS. The work has begun. Seeds have been sown. The trumpets are sounding. Let's Finish It!"

Witchita is the home of the last doctor in the United States willing to perform 3rd term abortions. Thousands of women in the Great Plains depend on services provided in Witchita. Operation Save American is planning on mobilizing thousands of activists to do whatever it takes to end access in Witchita. For more information see their website: http://jesusisthestandard.com

We are calling on all radical pro-choice activists to converge and show resistance to OSA. There will be a convergence space and radical actions to confront these bigots on the streets. We are going to keep the clinic open and hand the religious right the defeat it deserves. We can provide housing and some food for out-of-town activists. We need militants, escorts, medics, legal observers, & IMC reporters. We are hoping not only to acheive victory, but also to create a temporary radical community of resistance to oppression and tyranny.

We invite people going to the Southern Girl Convention to stop in Witchita before heading to Alabama. We need your help!
