The Execution Channel, is a 2007 novel by Ken MacLeod of a dystopian near future/alternative history whose possibilities are readily recognizable from today's headlines. Set in an alternative Britain in which the U.S. military and the British and American intelligence services conspire to wage a different but equally ineffective War on Terrorism. The novel reflects contemporary British anxieties about the loss of individual privacy rights, government secrecy, and popular antipathy toward Muslim immigrants. As in the 2006 dystopian film The Children of Men, Muslims are subject to ethnic cleansing.
