ASARCO's common stock was purchased by Grupo Mexico S.A. de C.V. in 1999. ASARCO is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Grupo Mexico's American Mining Corporation. ASARCO conducts operations in the US (Arizona, Texas and Montana) and Peru, mostly producing copper and other metals.

Subsidiaries include: Encycle, Inc., ASARCO Consulting, Inc.
