Update On Long Beach Arrests... Court Solidarity
Ok so this is the deal, a handful of us were at the jail from around
2:00-9:00 pm today. These are the stats we have going CURRENTLY. There are
still 47 ADULTS in jail, 20 ADULTS have been released. There are 3 main
charges that they are being held on.
1)Failure to Disperse which is a misdemeanor CA Penal Code section 409
2)Conspiracy which is a Felony
3)Some assault charges on a police officers which is a Felony
Majority of the arraignments are tomorrow, Visitation is from 10:00 AM-12:00
PM tomorrow.
On the charges the majority of the peoples bail is $500, but we do have 2
people w/ a $25,000 bail, 3 on $10,000, and 1 person on $35,000. There is
also one person having immigration problems and might be having deportation
difficulties.
Now tomorrow we are asking that as many of you as possible come down to the
LONG BEACH JAIL/COURTHOUSE on MAGNOLIA AND BROADWAY around 12:30 PM, because
arraignment begins at 1:30 and we want to have the court room packed to show
solidarity and support for the people still in jail.
After that meeting we will be going to the Quaker House for a brief meeting
ALL OF US... and also if anyone needs a place they can either stay there, or
the CO-OP house in Long Beach, the CO-OP house contact is 562-437-4040, The
Quaker house info is 323-296-0733 and the address for that also is 4167 S.
Normandie Ave. LA CA.
We need media and legal advisors/legal observers also.
If anyone is in contact w/ people still in jail please inform them of these
court solidarity actions.
1)Demand a speedy trial
2)Demand same court date along w/ others arrested
3)Ask for Plea bargain for everyone, so that nobody gets singled out
4)Demand same charges to protect yourself, and others who might be singled
out for higher charges
5)Demand a Jury trial
6)REFUSE TO PLEAD GUILTY
7)Demand to have a court appointed free attorney
Also you can give them the phone # to Midnight Special 510-834-1883
So that's all the info I have for you all, You can direct emails to me, or

many of you there tomorrow at noon.
Thank you
