The Imminent Threat of the Neocons and What’s at Stake for the So-Called Resistance Movement

The progressive types who work in the peace and anti-war movements, and all those who passionately work towards election reform and environmental protection are in for some seriously fucked-up trouble pretty soon. They need to get real and to see what’s truly at stake right now. There’s real work to be done on a practical front and we can’t get it done without the help of real people locally.

For the people of the progressive left in this country, this mustn’t any longer be a matter of having free opinions in a free society; it’s about survival in an all out class war. This isn’t a case of history repeating itself either, there are unprecedented forces at play in these times.

Much of what the reformist types believe to be true in general is derived from the work of the corporate media, through its news and entertainment industry. Corporate media can be trusted always to do whatever it must to keep this kind of thing going on as smoothly as possible.

People need to get away from their TV sets and radios; the real things to learn about are all out there on the streets.

Many activists might have a hard time understanding this, but the fact is we’re all in trouble with regard to the Neocons and what their agenda is.

The Neocons are certainly not just a lame-duck presidential administration struggling to keep itself intact under less-than-perfect public relations matters. These fuckers are the militant expression of the corporate class and they're going to fight violently to remain in power indefinitely.

A stroke of state if ever there was one, rises now. Take a look at how the Neocons have sought to deploy all of the armed services members into an impossible war and occupation scenario, overseas. Purposefully, our warriors are being sent halfway around the world where they’ll not be able to protect us from the likes of the Neocons.

Get this, the basic plan: private armies of goons like Blackwater USA and DynCorp are readily deployable anywhere in the greater part of the U.S. These guys have giant budgets tied-in with key Neocon players and are paid handsomely for their work (unlike the police and army).

These guys are definitely not cops; rather they’re mercs, fascist thugs, uber-pigs that’ll move swiftly to crush whatever forms of resistance that people can muster up against a wave of corporately sponsored oppression.

The police we know today will be replaced completely by the mercenary types; they'll be put out to pasture, or killed. Somebody needs to tell them about that too. The cops would have quite a better chance of surviving the near future by helping us out than they would if not.

The majority of armed services personnel would most definitely not allow the U.S. to be home to an all out police-state either, they'd certainly not engage us en masse like that. They seem to honor their oaths with respect to why they joined up in the first place, enough so as not to be turned that easily into imperial storm troopers and to give us a hand.

The Neocons know that much about our troops too, which is precisely why they need them all out of the way, where they can’t do anything to stop what comes next.

Let’s look at why the Neocons would do this.

They will because they must. If they intend on staying their present course, of being chief engineers of the globalist agenda, then they must do so para-militarily.

There are some very real problems for the Neocons which are associated with the peak-oil crisis. Not being able to sustain the present infrastructure without resorting to martial law, is the main one.

They know what’ll happen to our economy, they know already how unsustainable our present infrastructure is and how it won’t go on to support its own weight any longer. They know they must deploy massive changes soon to protect their investments.

The Neocons know that with the end of the age of cheap oil there comes an end to this age of general affluence with its common conveniences. The trucks and trains which ship everything to our stores’ shelves will stop rolling so frequently. Things about our society that many of us take for granted will seize-up, as food and other basic stuffs are no longer readily available to most people.

Neocons are counting on this to be the case. There’ll be a general deployment of their private corporate armies to put down any potential movements by people towards practical local autonomy.

In the name of “keeping order” in our society (protecting the interests of the rich), much will be done to keep the angry masses from organizing locally to make their ends meet. Atrocities will ensue, in terms of the extent of violence the corporate-state will attempt on people.

We all need to get our act together and work for a prolonged condition of local autonomy in our respective communities and neighborhoods. We need to keep it real and start out with our basic needs being met by us, where we live.

We’ve got to grow food and share it all with each other. We’ve got to make sure we’re all sheltered and kept warm and safe. Not to be outdone, we’ve got to be sure that we’re all entertained somewhat by our mutual company with one another (that’s actually pretty important).

This could be the defining moment of clarity for the lefty progressive movement as a whole too, insofar as it might turn that movement on its head so that it might better see what the fuck is going on in these times. People don’t have to accept that we’re all doomed to the whims of Empire. We’re the ones we’ve been waiting for to save our asses!

This does not read like something that would be written by any anarchist. It sounds more like it was written by a Young Democrat who is upset at the current system, but who hasn't made the final leap to anarchism or radical leftism. The language about "progressives" and "progressive left" reads like it is directed at readers of Common Dreams, not anarchists or radical community members.

More significantly, the focus in this piece on "Neocons" is problematic. Anarchists have never, or rarely, fingered out the Republicans, or Neocons, as the main aspect of the political system that we should fight against. Anarchists point out that the Democrats and Republicans are two sides of the same Corporate Party coin. They have conducted their wars, imperialism, capitalism and class war in bipartisan fashion for more than a century.

The people who yell the most about Neocons are liberal Democrats. Anarchists don't elevate Neocons as a worse evil than the other factions in the two ruling parties.

It is good to see that folks in Ohio are publishing an anarchist zine.
