So, were asking to everyone that would like to help us and support our activities and projects.. Any possible help and donations that can be useful to our library and if ever anyone would like to give donation such as funds. It would be very great and verily happy to use it in a good way, for the sake of the infoshop and also to our collective..
So, here's our March newsletter.. enjoy and hoping for your positive response! Thanx in advance!
-Vinaya (asawholefamily)
Namaskar! A bleep for all the beat, howling scriptures on the street. Get on the track coz we’re back on the road with Jack Kerouac! It’s the month of March and of course we have prepared the activities for everybody. Some ‘mind-orgasmic’ things to look forward to. The month of February turned out well, we’ve encountered some problems but thankfully we’ve went through it. Some activities were postponed and some ‘assigned individuals’ fail to come because of so many ‘bulls and sheets’ that they’ve allowed to dominate and manifest their lives! But generally speaking, we did it without them. So better luck next time all you lazy-hippie-alcoholic-losers, we are looking forward for your next excuses! The celebration continues. The pattern is getting more and more intricate and we know this time, it’s no longer enough. We are in a state of constant departure while always arriving; we are on our way to the cosmos, making love to the possibilities of subatomic explosion, dancing with the absurdities of evolution, riding through the waves of sonic dream and anticipating the birth of macrocosmic revolution. The ongoing WOW is happening right NOW! So pack your stuffs and take a ride…
Currently, we still don’t have our website, but we will start to make with in this month. Watch Out! We would also like to fire our deepest gratitude to everyone who helped us with our projects. Mabuhay mo’ng tanan! And to you! So here are some reports about what happened last month. Thanks a lot and we are hoping to see you!
Love, Poetry and Resistance!

REPORTS
Feb 1 – Thursday
Martial arts and Yoga class. Well done but lack of consistency due to personal priorities and schedules.
Feb 2 – Friday
A discussion by Lila Krshna and Ajay regarding the ‘Japan Phil. Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA), International Trade, WTO and the Phil. Legal Frameworks. The lecture emphasized the biases and exploitations of these multinational traders and how they take advantage of the economic crisis of the world today. The JPEPA is the Phil.’s ongoing acceptance of waste disposal from Japan as part of the Bi-Lateral agreement secretly signed by GMA in exchange of Phil. labor force (human products). It’s all part of the globalization that must be ended. (vinaya)
Feb 3 – Saturday
Film viewing. The first fund raising activity of the AAW family. Entitled ‘Boys don’t cry’ a film about ‘lesbian’ struggle in the normal society. After the movie, there was an open discussion about the subject. A fresh start for the collective’s new activity. Thanks to everyone who supported! Gender issue is part of the struggle in this sexist society. (pollinating butterfly)
Feb. 6 - Tuesday
Neo-humanism study circle initiated by Lila Krshna, Vinaya and Mhel. This was about P.R. Sarkar’s (the founder of Ananda Marga yoga) philosophy and universalist outlook on human existence. After the very practical and mind-liberating open discussion, we proceed to collective kiirtana’ and meditation. (ajay)
Feb. 9 – Friday
No Logo. A book written by Naomi Klein discussed by Pranaka. An issue about ‘brandings’, and its psychological effects. Punks from different places were surprised to hear about the reality behind these sweatshops and famous products like NIKE, GAP, IBM, Walt Disney etc. which can be seen on TV, magazines, tabloids, billboards and other advertising tools which these multi-national corporations use. This book totally revealed the facts about how women workers suffer inside these factories and EPZ (export processing zone) in Cavite, Phil. and other 3rd world countries which started a long time ago. (Please look for this book on the internet, bookshops and read it yourself). Workers are paid with a very small amount of salary while being exploited by these company’s. Some died while working. One of them was Carmelita Alonzo, a seamstress stitching clothes for ‘GAP and Liz Claiborne’. She died after a long over night shifts during a particular heavy peak season. She had ‘pneumonia’, a common illness in factories that are suffocatingly hot during the day but filled with condensation at night. She asked her manager for time off to recover but she was denied. She was admitted to the hospital but didn’t make it. She died on Mar 8, 1997 Int’l Women’s Day, in which we are going to commemorate this coming Thursday, 4pm. So we hope to see you there for her tribute at Freedom Park Roxas. Thanks! (Ajay and Vinaya)
Feb. 10 - Saturday
Free film viewing. A very explosive and reality opening documentary entitled “The Corporation”. It exposes the lies and the horrors beneath the skin of well suited capitalists and corporations and how they manipulate and exploit the whole world mentally and physically. Viewers experienced a heart-shattering discovery of different pictures such as factory conditions, Monsanto’s hazard products being sold to the common market, torturing of animals and humans, and corporate destructions on this planet. This film is still widely discussed and viewed all over the world so please watch out for its next showing. (pollinating butterfly)
Feb. 22 – Thursday
Mamamayang Ayaw sa Aerial Spray (MAAS) motorcade in celebration for the banning of Aerial Pesticide Application in Davao City. Different organizations from different sectors have participated in a victorious motorcade around the City to rejoice the success of Davaoenios in fighting theses giant banana and pineapple corporations in their toxic ways of aerial spray application. Among those organizations were: Interface Development Interventions, Inc. (IDIS), KFI, LRC, YAH2O, LINK, Kinaiyahan Unahon!, Anak Kalinaw and MAKALAYA art ensemble and many more… (ajay)
Feb. 24 – Saturday
9 AM – A lecture on ‘Pesticides and Monocropping’ given by Alter ‘Ajay’ Pekar to the students of Davao City Nat’l High School during their 3rd Youth Environment in Schools Organization Eco-Camp. With the help of Anne of IDIS, the lecture was very successful.
1 PM - As-A-Whole Alternative School and Art Workshop for the Bulusan Kids. It was a rainy day and all were busy preparing the program and the foods. While getting the kids, we had an argument with the purok chairwoman because she was asking for the letter of permission from the parents but we haven’t got one so she didn’t allow. I and Peter were totally disappointed. But after a while, 14 lovely kids went to our house and beg to continue the activity. We started at around 4pm because of the rain and the little problem. The hours were so intense, the staffs are hasting. With the participation of some friends…Ate Anne, Jumar, Charmaine and Mie-mie we manage the program easily. Chay and Peter did the introduction and the kids were very excited, singing and laughing. Showing of film ‘Sacred Planet’ was next, a film that teaches value of taking care of this planet. Then, a discussion about ‘basic Neo-humanism for children’ with Vinaya and after that, we let them draw on the piece of paper on ‘what kind of world they want it to be’. It was great knowing how these innocent children wish for the world through their drawings. Aside from earthy images of trees, animals and clean waters, they want the world to be peaceful, loving and beautiful. (How I wish that all of us would view our world to be like this. Let’s bring out the child in all of us). After that, we did a collective meditation with Ajay and Jumar and the kids. Then, we proceed to the distribution of healthy vegetarian snacks. And lastly, we let them explain their art works, play the games and distribute the gifts. The event was very touching and heartwarming. Thanks to these helping hands…Ebay, IDIS crew, Aiza and to all of us. (pranaka and ajay)
