A conservative activist who criticizes what he calls the leftist domination of college campuses was struck with a pie Wednesday night at Butler University.

David Horowitz, president of the Center for the Study of Popular Culture, had just started a lecture at Butler when he was hit.

Horowitz's supporters followed the assailants out of the hall, and confronted them with what a witness called "pushing and shoving." However, the attackers got away.

"There's a wave of violence on college campuses, committed by what I'd call fascists opposing conservatives," Horowitz said. "It's one step from that to injury."

After the incident, Horowitz completed his lecture.

It was the second time in a week that a conservative lecturer was hit by a pie at an Indiana university. On March 30, William Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard, was attacked during a speech at Earlham College in Richmond.

Butler spokesman Marc Allan called Wednesday's incident "deplorable."

Then can I pie you in the face when you open your mouth? Or are you already a fat slob? When your sister goes to give a lecture and is pied in the face, you keep quiet. HAHA, it

I guess it's expected that they'll miss the point of a pie being thrown and write it off as violence.

Fascism was created by disenfranchized socalists. Fascism is a right-wing idea made by FORMER left-wingers. It's like LGF and all the other "mugged liberals". They were left, then something little like 9/11 happens and they suddenly turn into neo-cons. It's sad, but also shows how little strength they have.

of course the pie in the face is hilarious when it isnt you. maybe if you went to give a speech on campus (like anyone would show up) and got pied in the face you'd think it was fantastically hilarious, especially if you knew you were pied because people were trying to disrupt your speech and embarass you, not play a practical joke.

seeing what I have at various sports game, soft thrown things turn to hard thrown things, and knowing that some campuses have become violent over lecturers, Its absurdly naive to think that people WHO WEAR MASKS to throw pies wouldnt do something violent. Yes, its very important to hide your identity if you have no claim to hurting someone.

Your post makes absolutely no sense. Fascism can be left wing or right wing. In fact, extremes of any government tend to have fascism and autocracy in common. Europe has heavily socialized economies but they respect freedoms, America is less socialized but we respect freedoms. Stalin
