- It's somewhat ironic that the AUC was declared a terrorist organization by Colin Powell on Sept. 10th, 2001. Shortly thereafter, a war on terrorism was declared. Some of the best evidence of the US gov't's hypocrisy in this war is contained in the report below, a report required by congress to justify Plan Colombia. The US gov't directly supports the Colombian military. The Colombian military directly supports the AUC, an official terrorist organization. Therefore, in violation of its own laws, the US gov't sponsers terrorism. I challenge anyone to find me evidence as direct as this regarding Iraq's support of terrorism, Or even the Taliban's. Send it to me. I'll post it here. It will only emphasize the hypocrisy. Of course, Colombia is but one example of hypocrisy in this war.
