Movement for Living Wages, Community Space, Organizing Rights Grows at Queens Center Mall

The coalition fighting for living wages and community space at the Queens Center Mall confronted the mall owner, the Macerich Company, today demanding a meeting to begin discussions on how to transform the publicly subsidized poverty wage center into a responsible development that pays employees a living wage and benefits the community.

The Queens Center Mall is one of the most profitable malls in the country. Yet, as the Queens Center Mall Coalition’s December report revealed, the Macerich Company receives over $100 million in tax breaks but most of the 3,100 jobs at the mall pay at or around the $7.25 federal minimum wage and do not include health benefits. As a result, the study found the mall has helped create an entire community that is struggling under the weight of poverty-wage jobs.

My Identiy Crisis

I am a 62 year old American political refugee living in New Zealand for the past seven years. I am in the process of publishing a memoir about the events that led me to leave the United State (The Most Revolutionary Act: Memoir of an American Refugee). My publisher has insisted I start blogging - as apparently this is how authors get published these days. For someone of my age this was somewhat of a hurdle in itself.

It has taken seven years to bring to publication what was intended as an expose of domestic (within the continental US) death squad activities carried out by (I assume) some branch of military intelligence, who are most likely to be responsible for domestic covert assassinations.

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC Bank) : Corporate Bully

RBC Bank President Gordon Nixon - Salary $11.73 Million

$100,000 - MISTAKE (FISHERMEN'S LOAN)

I'm a commercial fisherman fighting the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC Bank) over a $100,000 loan mistake. I lost my home, fishing vessel and equipment. Help me fight this corporate bully by closing your RBC Bank account.

There was no monthly interest payment date or amount of interest payable per month on my loan agreement. Date of first installment payment (Principal + interest) is approximately 1 year from the signing of my contract.

The last chapter isn't done. But in this version our heroes are winning!

The background of the adventures is a Social Revolution
leading to a Money-Free economy.

Fascinating but hard to do.

Still time to change/add/edit. I really need feedback.!Thanks for
all your comments and ideas.

You can comment here PLEASE or register and comment on the Authonomy
site (which would boost it's rating, already very high, by the way that site is owned by R.Murdoch!).

That's all.  Hope you're still revolting..........

The Fall of Capitalism?

Reactionary and shortsighted socialists, anarchists, and European free-marketeers believe wholeheartedly that the monies disbursed to private enterprises by the American federal government through investment and loans signify the beginning of the downfall of laissez-faire capitalist economics. I am not one of those individuals. While the privatization of profits and socialization of losses is both unsustainable and an abhorrent abomination of any principle the people of the United States have ever held, it is not the harbinger of doom for capitalism as it is practiced today. Obama's election and the Democratic control of both Houses of Congress will not change anything, as was promised to millions of easily deceived voters. Both parties are in the pocket of corporate interests, because reelection often hinges on how many dollars a campaign can glean from the pockets of interested parties.

Marketing Possibilities for the McCain-Obama Debates

Counterhegemonic

The election debates allow American viewers a few hours of a very unusual thing - commercial-free television. For two hours they can enjoy a program without facing a barrage of corporate endorsements meant to slickly steer you towards your next consumer purchase. No jingles, no quirky scenarios and no subtle insertion of the latest oh, so useful product. In theory, the choice between John McCain and Barack Obama is so vital for the future of this country that no distractions (including distractions of the 3rd party kind) can be allowed to interfere with the decision-making process of voters.

waiting for g8

Nuovo G8. A Tokyo.
