The Family Research Council

801 G Street NW (a block from the MCI Center and two blocks from the Convention Center [GALLERY PLACE/CHINATOWN]
Washington's largest anti-gay organization.

From their website:

  • "It's easy to see that such laws would restrict the freedom of everyone but homosexuals. They would also be impractical. If the laws recognized homosexual relationships as "marriages" and "families," then every existing law which mentions these two terms would suddenly protect and provide for them. Businesses would have to pay for them to have "family" health insurance benefits; states would have to recognize them as candidates for adopting children — and the list goes on.

Whatever else they may be, relationships between homosexuals are not marriages. Thanks to DOMA, our law now affirms that fact. For, as FRC's Bob Knight has pointed out, "Giving same-sex relationships or out-of-wedlock heterosexual couples the same special status and benefits as the marital bond would not be the expansion of a right but the destruction of a principle."

  • "homosexuality is unhealthy, immoral and destructive to individuals, families and societies."
